ASICS Tiger is following up on its “Made in Japan” Men's/Women/s Asics GT-1000 edition from 2015 with two new colorways that further the home-grown concept. Utilizing precise and delicate manual work, the Japan-based brand applied hand-dyed ink to the uppers of each design, resulting in two pure tonal colorways. With two options available, the split-tongued runner is dressed in an indigo and a light cyan selection, both made of premium leather and lined with fine materials.
Fusing his own design philosophy with that of footwear institution Asics GT-2000 Sneakers, Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has crafted what he considers to be his smallest building yet with a collaborative take of the brand’s staple METARIDE silhouette. A mix of both comfort and structure, the upper itself boasts a two knit materials with the outer layer making nod to a traditional bamboo weaving technique. These, which cross over atop the entire woven backdrop, wrap in and out between the profile’s tiger stripe logos while also forming the eye stays of the toggle lace lock.

The tongue/laces add to the highlighted hues with their burgundy and olive shades, while the thick white midsole adds a pop of blue and the rugged, hike-ready outsole gets dressed in a soft tan.
