Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Jackson-Martinez...ca-Jers ey/ .com) - Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he was unsure if running back LeVeon Bell would be available for Saturdays AFC wild card matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Bell suffered a right knee injury in the season-finale against Cincinnati. Tomlin, as he did on Sunday night, said the knee was hyperextended and added that there was no structural damage. There is pain and soreness and discomfort associated with it, said Tomlin on Tuesday. Were going to take it day-by-day. I met with him just moments ago, and he was in the training room on the stationary bike and riding like he was training for the Tour de France. Bell was hurt in the third quarter of the 27-17 victory over the Bengals after taking a helmet to the knee from Cincinnati safety Reggie Nelson. He ran for just 20 yards on eight carries and caught six passes for 80 yards before exiting the contest. Were going to make the right decision, Tomlin added Tuesday. We wont be swayed by circumstance -- the magnitude of the game and so forth. If hes healthy and able to protect himself and can be a positive contributor to our efforts, well play him. If we cant answer yes to all of those questions and then some, we wont. Its just that simple. Bell finished the season as the NFLs second-leading rusher with 1,361 yards. I dont know whether or not hes going to be available for the game, Tomlin continued. We are going to make alternate plans if he doesnt, but well leave the light on for him. The Steelers brought in running back Ben Tate on Tuesday for insurance. Tate spent time with both Cleveland and Minnesota this season. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Sebastian-Perez-...ca-Jers ey/ . Both times hes left empty. It was War Emblem in 2002. "It all happened so fast," he told TSN.ca on a Wednesday filled with early sunshine and looming clouds. They collapsed in titanic fashion this spring, falling ever so steeply from the comforts of a playoff berth to their seventh consecutive season out in the wilderness. Over the course of about eight weeks, the Leafs won just five games, growing increasingly despondent with each disappointing effort and impending result. "We had lots of confidence," Gunnarsson explained somewhat mournfully, "lost a couple games and it was all gone like that (snaps fingers)." An influx of confidence gleaned over the course of four months - the Leafs sat as high as seventh in early February - disappeared without a trace. The speedy and oft-aggressive club was quickly gone, replaced by unease and indecision. "Its just tough to get it back," Gunnarsson said of confidence. "Its easy to lose it, but it takes some time to get it back." The harshest lessons of the Leafs meltdown arent likely to present themselves until days, weeks and perhaps months after the wreckage is carefully sifted through and changes to the roster are made, but in the initial aftermath a few answers are emerging. "We didnt do a good enough job of facing adversity head on," Cody Franson said, noting a team-wide inability to learn from rather than dwell on mistakes. "We kind of let it take over us and we lost some confidence and lost our swagger that we had from the start of the year when we were playing really well. We just never really got back to thatt point. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Roger-Martinez-C...ca-Jers ey/. " "Well I guess youve got to learn something from it," Gunnarsson said as he pondered the question, "and its probably going to take a while, look back on it during the summer. But what can you learn? Youve got to learn to stop things in time when they go bad." The fury of the tailspin - capped by Ron Wilsons dismissal in early March, but still without end - intensified to such a low-point that there existed almost a powerless feeling to stop it. "Your mindset slowly starts to change sometimes and thats where weve got to be better," Franson explained. "It was one of those things where things started to snowball on us a bit and instead of trying to really take the situation and turn it around, we kind of got an attitude where it was sometimes [like] here we go again with some of the stretches that we went through. But like I said thats our fault and weve got to do a better job of it." "In the room youre trying to make the best out of it," Gunnarsson added, "but it goes bad; one game, two games, three games, people start talking its a bad streak. People start talking, guys start thinking and thats never good when you start over-thinking things ... Thats probably something you can learn too; just shut it out and not listen to what people say. Try to focus on the group youve got in the room and not take any advice or listen to rumours from the outside. "Its tough to say what happened and if we couldve done anything differently right now; were still kind of in it. Probably after the season when you look back you might have some better answers."
