MIAMI -- LeBron James and the Miami Heat benefited from their three-day break, beginning a five-game homestand with a hard-fought win over a pesky opponent. James scored 25 points against his former team, leading the energized Heat to a 114-107 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. Dwyane Wade added 24 points and Chris Bosh had 22 for the Heat, idle since a 90-84 loss Tuesday at Indiana. They squandered a 19-point third-quarter lead in this one and rallied from a two-point deficit with eight unanswered points late in the fourth quarter. "We were flying around throughout the whole game," James said. "Even though they made their run and slowed us down in the third quarter, you could tell how we were able to finish the game in the fourth quarter." Ray Allens two free throws with 2:16 remaining capped the run and put the Heat ahead 106-100. Mario Chalmers corner 3-pointer with 1:36 left increased the lead to 109-101. "Were a team that has the ability to take it up a notch," Wade said. "It helps because we were at home. It was between winning and losing, and we wanted to win." Bosh had a season-high 12 rebounds and James was one rebound and assist short of a triple-double. "I wanted to be more consistent with my rebounding and be in the right spot at the right time," Bosh said. Kyrie Irving scored 19 points, and Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters each had 16 for the Cavaliers, who played the second half without coach Mike Brown. He was ejected late in the second quarter after he stormed onto the court looking for a foul on Shane Battiers block of Thompsons layup. Referee Sean Wright gave Brown two technicals, resulting in an ejection with 3:14 remaining in the period. "When you come into their building, you know you are probably not going to get too many calls," Brown said. "I thought Tristan got hit when he went up to dunk the ball. He is 6-10 and he got bent backward like that. He doesnt bend backward because he missed a dunk. "I thought he got hit. I lost it there." The Cavaliers used Browns ejection as a rallying cry in the second half. "We lost our leader with Coach Brown going out," Irving said. "We pulled it together. We all believe in one another and that if we continue to fight and get stops we could tie it up and we did." The Cavaliers erased a 19-point deficit early in the third quarter and outscored the Heat 28-16 in the period. Jarret Jacks jump shot with 8:03 remaining in the fourth gave the Cavaliers a 93-91 lead and their first advantage since midway through the first quarter. Cleveland increased the margin to four on Dion Waiters layup with 7:24 remaining. "Getting down early, we could have folded our tent," Jack said. "But our guys put forth a tremendous effort in the second half." The Cavaliers began their comeback with a 19-7 third-quarter spurt and got to 78-73 on Irvings two free throws with 3:51 remaining in the period. Jacks jumper with 1:48 left narrowed Miamis lead to 81-78. Miami built a six-point first-quarter lead and had its first double-digit advantage, 52-42, on Boshs dunk with 5:15 remaining in the second period. The Heat had an 18-3 run in the quarter and led 68-52 after Wade scored 20 points in the first half. Bosh scored 13 in the quarter and his layup with 2:11 remaining gave the Heat their largest lead of the half at 62-45. "You need to credit the Cavs for staying with it, and they got second life and turned it into a heck of a basketball game," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We were able to make enough plays on both ends and at the very end come away with a win, but thats something we certainly need to work on." Irving hit two early 3-pointers as the Cavaliers went 4 of 4 from behind the arc in the first 3:15 of the game. His second 3 with 8:15 remaining in the quarter put Cleveland ahead 15-14. Collaros, 25, was solid last season, posting a 5-2 record as the starter while incumbent Ricky Ray was injured. Collaros also started Torontos 23-20 regular-season finale loss to Montreal — Ray didnt dress because the Argos had already clinched first in the East Division — but was one of three quarterbacks to play that day. http://www.sf49ersteamshop.com/authentic-joshua-ga...rs-jers ey/ . As the crowd erupted, Davis knocked the ball off the glass and back into his hands. With 1:14 to go in overtime, Davis sixth block also became his 17th rebound. That, along with his 32 points -- which tied a career high -- proved too much for Denver to overcome, and the Pelicans held on for their third straight victory, 111-107 on Sunday night. Kershaw rebounded with seven dominant innings and got two-run homers from Yasiel Puig and A.J. Ellis as the NL West champion Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 4-0 on Saturday night. Two days after clinching their first division title since 2009, the Dodgers turned to their ace who delivered a gem as he struck out 10 and allowed just three hits. Kershaw (15-9) lowered his major league-best ERA to 1.88. He leads the NL with 224 strikeouts. The left-hander was held out of his last start on Wednesday to allow him more rest as the playoffs approach. "I felt good, so I guess thats a bonus," Kershaw said. A little bit erratic at first with the fastball but A.J. did a real good job of making me use all my pitches on both sides of the plate." In his previous three September starts, Kershaw wasnt as sharp as normal, going 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA. Kershaw is trying to become the first pitcher to lead the majors in ERA in three consecutive seasons since Atlantas Greg Maddux from 1993-95. The last Dodger to finish a season with a sub-2.00 ERA was Sandy Koufax (1.73) in 1966. San Diego had Kershaws number this season, defeating him in all three previous starts. The 2011 Cy Young Award winner was 0-3 with a 4.67 ERA in his first three starts against the Padres, while going 14-6 with a 1.71 ERA in his other starts. "(San Diego) is a tough team. They battle me," Kershaw said. "They put good at-bats on me and always seem to get my pitch count up. I felt good to finally get a win against these guys." Said Padres rookie second baseman Jedd Gyorko: "I think the difference was being able to get those key hits. You cant get him all the time and he kind of got us. Id say our at-bats were just as good as any other game against him. We just couldnt push through." San Diego had runners on first and second in the first with one out and men on second and third with no outs in the third and couldnt score either ttime against Kershaw.dddddddddddd "Theyve been successful against him the last couple of years," Ellis said. "They grind him better than any team hes faced throughout the season. Hes kind of become a one-sided guy against these guys. Fastball in, slider, occasional curveball (with) two strikes. I think he was ready for something different." Ellis homered in the fourth off rookie Burch Smith (1-2). "It was a changeup that was a little bit up that ran into his bat," Smith said. Puig then connected on a shot to centre field off Tim Stauffer in the seventh that was estimated at 457 feet. Kershaw reached on a bunt single to lead off the inning. Kershaw retired 14 of his last 15 batters. Relievers Ronald Belisario and Brian Wilson each pitched a perfect inning for the Dodgers. Los Angeles played all of its starters, except shortstop Hanley Ramirez. The Dodgers held out all of their regulars in a 2-0 loss to the Padres on Friday night, one day after clinching their first division title since 2009. Smith gave up two runs on three hits in six innings. The rookie struck out six and walked a career-high five. NOTES: Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is resting Ramirez to help him recover from back and hamstring injuries that have plagued him throughout the season. Ramirez is expected to see limited playing time before the post-season. ... Dodgers OF Andre Ethier (sprained left ankle) missed his eighth straight game. Ethier, who took batting practice and did running drills before the game, could return when the Dodgers start a three-game series at San Francisco on Tuesday. ... Smiths third-inning single was his first major league hit. ...
