LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling repeatedly disparaged Magic Johnsons HIV-positive status in an interview that aired Monday, saying he was not a fit role model for children and dismissing his work in business and charity. http://www.wholesalejerseysace.cc/France-1-lloris-...ey-hz.h tml . The interview with CNNs Anderson Cooper was meant to be a mea culpa in Sterlings first public comments since racist recordings emerged last month and earned him a lifetime NBA ban, but when the subject turned to Johnson, who was mentioned in the recordings, Sterling is anything but apologetic. "Hes got AIDS!" Sterling said loudly at one point, cutting off Cooper as the interviewer attempted to cite Johnsons accomplishments after Sterling asked, "What has he done, big Magic Johnson, what has he done?" Sterling changed course briefly during the interview to call Johnson "a good person," but resumed his criticism. "He acts so holy," Sterling said. "He made love to every girl in every city in America, and he had AIDS, and when he had those AIDS, I went to my synagogue and I prayed for him, I hope he could live and be well. I didnt criticize him. I could have. Is he an example for children?" Cooper corrected Sterling, explaining that Johnson was HIV-positive but did not have "full-blown AIDS." Sterling briefly adjusted his language but not his tone. "What kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV. Is that someone we want to respect, and tell our kids about?" Sterling said. "I think he should be ashamed of himself." Johnson, who is scheduled to appear on Coopers show to reply on Tuesday, wrote on his Twitter account that "Id rather be talking about these great NBA Playoffs than Donald Sterlings interview." Johnson later Tweeted, "After this week, no more Sterling talk." The comments earned Sterling a quick rebuke from NBA commissioner Adam Silver, who handed down a lifetime ban and $2.5 million fine against Sterling last month. "I just read a transcript of Donald Sterlings interview with Anderson Cooper and while Magic Johnson doesnt need me to, I feel compelled on behalf of the NBA family to apologize to him that he continues to be dragged into this situation and be degraded by such a malicious and personal attack," Silver said. "The NBA Board of Governors is continuing with its process to remove Mr. Sterling as expeditiously as possible." Just a day earlier, Johnson and the commissioner sat together at the Clippers playoff game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, though Johnson had Tweeted that he would never again attend a Clippers game while Sterling was owner. http://www.wholesalejerseysace.cc/Toronto-fc-10-gi...ey-qn.h tml .The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Tuesday because the roster move has not been announced. http://www.wholesalejerseysace.cc/Warriors-11-klay...ey-df.h tml .ca MLB Power Rankings, ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants. The As have scored 296 runs -- most in baseball -- while allowing 181, the fewest in baseball.UFA, Russia - The NHL-eligible members of Canadas junior hockey team dont know if the lockout will be over by the time they get home. But they agree the world junior championship prepared them well for training camps if they were suddenly summoned to by their respective NHL clubs. "Its been a really intense tournament," said captain Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers. "I think its exactly how the start of the season will be." Nugent-Hopkins is the lone NHL player on Canadas team, but forwards Jonathan Huberdeau (Florida), Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg), Ryan Strome (New York Islanders) and Dougie Hamilton (Boston) are among the players likely to be called up if the season commences. Theyre all top-10 NHL draft picks from the class of 2011. "From junior, its such a high step to the NHL, but if there is a stepping stone, it is the world juniors," said Strome, who plays for the Ontario Hockey Leagues Niagara IceDogs. Scheifele agreed. "Its such a strong tournament here and theres so many good players youre playing against," the Barrie Colts forward said. "Theres a lot of guys that could be in the NHL, will be in the NHL soon. That would be a huge thing to build you up for a training camp." In a last-ditch effort to salvage the 2012-13 season, the NHL and players association have been bargaining in New York this week. The Canadian junior players affected have followed the labour drama from Ufa with varying degrees of interest — from not at all to checking for updates on Twitter to reading websites for the latest blow-by-blow in negotiations. "Its kind of hard when youre so removed from eveerything going on, but Ive tried to stay up to date a little bit," Nugent-Hopkins said. Wholesale Jerseys. "It looks pretty positive, but who knows right?" Ufa is 11 hours ahead of Eastern time in New York. The Canadians have been asleep when developments in bargaining have happened. It hasnt been in their faces on mainstream radio or television. "You just read about it on Twitter sometimes, but if not, you dont hear anything about it," Huberdeau said. Hamilton, Stromes IceDogs teammate, has taken a wake-me-when-its-over attitude. "Going through the whole process starting in August and hearing the season is going to start next week and it doesnt happen, Im kind of just whenever now," Hamilton said. "When I get an email or phone call saying its over and we want you to come to camp if thats the case for me, then Ill believe it." But when the Canadian team boards the plane Sunday for the trip home, some will wonder where theyll be playing in the next couple of weeks as the NHL lockout nears the point of no return this season. "The potential to go back home in two or three days here and really I dont know where Im going to be, if Im going to be in Niagara, if Im going to be traded from Niagara, if Im going to be in New York, its kind of interesting and something I wasnt expecting," Strome said. He believes any post-tournament, post-travel fatigue would be offset by the excitement of going to an NHL camp. "A lot of time zones, a lot of travel, but the chance to play in the NHL is something that doesnt come along every day," Strome said. "Im still only 19 years old so I can get excited for that."
